Company Credit Search

Within the Risk Insights section you can find the Credit Search functionality. This functionality enables the user to search for any business in the UK and Ireland that are present within the credit bureaus database to find a credit report on a company. Typically this tool is used to understand if you are comfortable giving new customers credit terms on invoices, or also check the financial health of an existing customer.

  1. Navigate to Risk Insights > Credit Search.

  2. Search the company name or registered number in the search field:

  3. Once you have found the correct company, click 'View company page' (clicking the company name highlighted in blue takes you to the same page):

  4. You will be taken to a summary of their credit report using information provided by the credit bureau that includes:

  • Registered address - this can help identify if you are looking at the correct company

  • Average days beyond terms (DBT) - the average number of days past payment terms a business takes to pay its suppliers.

  • Risk band - based on risk score, the band can be from very low risk to very high risk

  • Recommended credit limit - the credit bureau recommends this limit for each invoice you raise

  • DBT trend - has the debtor got better or worse at paying

  • Credit score trend - has their score improved or worsened

  • Industry - in which industry does the debtor work in

You also have the ability to view a complete credit report by clicking on ‘View a complete credit report’. This takes you to the full credit report (this will use one of your credit report allowances):

The full credit report provides further company credit information, providing the credit score, financials, event history and more.
